Clean Out Your Cupboards

Today is the day to clean out your cupboards. There should be no hidden JUNK food stash for when you're dying of hunger at 9:00pm at night (yes, we all have late night cravings) . Guess what? If it's in the kitchen you will eat it, if it's not lurking in the cupboards it will force you to snack on something healthy not JUNK!!!

You may think it's impossible because you have kids but they shouldn’t be eating it either. I have two children and I feed them nuts, string cheese, pretzels and fruit. I just don't buy JUNK anymore because I know if I do break down and buy some JUNK they will expect it every week. Believe me after a while of eating clean you will stop craving JUNK, the thought of JUNK will make you feel, YUK! Don't get me wrong I love Chocolate but I eat it in moderation and I'm fine but not everyday!


Avoid Land Mines Whilst Dinning Out

1. Do not go to dinner starving-temptation will probably get the better of you. Instead, eat a piece of fruit or some veggies about an hour before you go out. The fiber will keep you feeling fuller over a longer period of time without the extra calories.

2. Go easy on the alcohol- not only does it contain a lot of empty calories but will often take away your will power with food which often leads to over eating.

3. Take the bread basket away and the bowl of chips away- the temptation is far too strong if you're will friends then just move it to the other side of the table out of your reach. A few warm rolls with butter or chips with guacamole will blow your healthy eating plan for the week in just one sitting.

4. Half the Portions- considering most restaurant portions are often double if not triple the correct portions your body actual needs, its not surprising that often we roll out of the restaurant instead of walking. Leave some food on your plate and ask for a doggy bag, this could be tomorrow's dinner.

5. Look for cooking methods such as broiled, baked or steamed on the menu-stay away from any fried food such a tempura which is a popular choice in a sushi restaurant.

6. No white sauces- most white sauces are usually made from cream and butter this will definitely add inches on your figure. Chose a tomato- based sauce this is way lighter on the calories and the tummy!

7. Chicken, Fish and Turkey-are better entree choices as they're lower in fat content and are digested quicker than red meat.

8. Order an appetizer as your entree-this is a great alternative if you're not feeling too hungry and want a light meal.

9. Ask for Fruit as your side order-often foods are served with french fries which are deadly, they're gone before you know it! Fruit or a green side salad is a better choice and ask for dressing on the side.

10. Eat slowly- -enjoy your food but give it time to go down with some nice cold water. The slower you eat the less likely you will over eat. Lsten to your body if you're pants are starting to feel tight STOP eating.

11. Avoid all-you-can eat buffets- stay away this is a disaster waiting to happen.

Eat Regular

How many times do you go most of the day without eating because you’re too busy feeding the children? Yes, this is the most common mistake women make which can completely throw a wrench in to losing the baby weight. Your body needs fuel on a regular basis in order to function correctly and to keep your metabolism running in high gear. ALWAYS eat breakfast, the most important meal of the day and ALWAYS have healthy snacks-on-the-go. This alone will save you hundreds of extra calories from awakening the metabolism first thing in the morning and prevent you from over eating on JUNK food which is easily accessible when you’re out and about on your travels. Aim to eat 5-6 small meals a day and never go more than three hours without eating.
